Gene Baker

Board Member

Gene spent his active-duty Army career as an Engineer officer in a combat unit stationed in West Germany at the end of the Cold War and his business career in med-tech startups, except for a stint helping to found and run a health and beauty care consumer packaged goods company.

Most recently, Gene founded and led TruMed Systems, the San Diego-based creator and manufacturer of AccuVax, the world’s greatest vaccine smart refrigerator and cloud-connected ‘vending machine.’  Gene currently serves as a director on the board of TruMed and as an Executive-in-Residence for Anzu Partners, an early-stage venture investor focused on leading-edge industrial technology.  Gene loves building businesses that solve difficult problems in a commercially valuable way.

When not working to support the success of ForeCountry, TruMed, Anzu’s portfolio companies, or his children, Gene is currently wholly-focused on his golf game, convinced that he is in a now-or-never race against the forces of aging to become a somewhat competent golfer.
